What is RBE
RBE is short for Resource-Based Economy, a system where goods and services are accessible without the need for commodity-money exchange. The term was coined by Jacques Fresco, who posited that a resource-based economy can only be achieved when all natural resources are recognized as the common property of all inhabitants of the planet.
Fresco’s theory of RBE is based on the belief that the Earth is abundant in resources, capable of providing everyone with the necessities for a comfortable life. From a scientific standpoint, there are no apparent technical barriers to this vision.
A resource-oriented economy is often defined as one where the efficient and rational utilization of resources drives growth. Various works explore ways to enhance the efficiency of such an economy through technological advancements, particularly in resource management technologies.

The term “resource-based economy” became widespread due to the popularization of Jacques Fresco, particularly in his work with The Venus Project.
The Venus Project serves as the conceptual foundation for the resource-based economy (RBE). Essentially, The Venus Project embodies the principles and ideals of the RBE. The name Venus itself comes from the name of Venus, Florida, USA, where Jacques Fresco and Roxanne Meadows built a research center and called it “The Venus Project”.

Also, with the help of an unconditional basic income, it becomes possible to reduce working hours in many areas of activity. In addition, widespread automation is already replacing human labor, and productivity is only growing.
And most importantly, endless GDP growth with limited resources is impossible. This is a dead end. It took millions of years to form the minerals that are being extracted every second, and one day natural resources will definitely run out if we do not change our attitude towards them.
We can make the transition to a resource-based economy in an evolutionary way, taking into account the interests of all people on the planet. If you have no idea how this is possible, join our audience.
